Hi
Can some one help me with this? I drowned my camera Canon EOS 400D Rebel XTi and a couple of lens in Algonquin yesterday. The camera was in the water for over 20 minutes.
Can the camera be repaired? Also, can someone direct me to a Canon Service Centre in and around Mississauga.
Thank you
Swamy
The only few times I heard miraculous salvages in such cases (or involving cell phones) is when the person didn't have the bad idea to turn it on and see if the machine still works. Sometimes the camera might still be ok but turning it on causes a deadly short circuit. So, DO NOT turn it on, remove the battery and the lens (don't cap the hole), and leave it in a dry place for a few days... at this point, you don't care about dust getting it. Later on power it with a dry battery... forget the one you had on.
You may have a very slim chance this way... but overall, it's sad.
