I want a good tripod but I don't need 'pro'. That is the best I can describe what I am looking for.

I want my Grip'd 400D + 70-200 f/4L w/ Tripod Ring to be stable with NO problems.

Currently I have your basic Wolf Camera 40 dollar tripod. It holds the camera find but I want something nice and sturdy but it won't break the bank at the same time.

Does this product exist?

How big is your bank?

A popular tripod that is semi-affordable as well is the Bogen/Manfrotto 3021bpro/488RC2 tripod/ballhead combination. The 3021bpro is no longer made (at least under this model name) but can now be found as the 055proxb tripod. This combo can be had for ~$275 before shipping from B&H and currently has a $25 MIR.

If this is too much, then many people say good things about ebay's Dynatran tripods. They are relatively cheap (legs can be had for ~$100)... so perhaps this would fit your bill a little bit better.
