A good friend of mine is putting together an album and wanted some pictures. I also have pictures of him actually performing in his in-house studio area. Those are posted in the performing arts section.

This one has extensive PP for the multi-exposures and sort of a Dave Hill effect...i know there's some halos..

The guitarist reminds me of Weekend At Bernies on the last photo. The rest of the shots are absolutely amazing!

i like the third one best. the four is interesting but too busy. and the 1st and 2nd lack the complete detail the 3rd offers. The lighting seems to bring out the details of his clothing and facial features. That engages the eye a little more than the first two. good job with them!

I really like the first one. They last one seems to be a totally different mood but I see where you were going with it. I think you should take them to a different location though.
Thanks for posting

The third one,
Some recommendations to improve the photo:

1. Take the picture again and exclude the wrist watch and the sunglasses. These elements distract the viewer.
2. Emphasis (increase light) the guitar a little bit. Looks dark.
3. Crop the lower part of the photo to emphasis the actor.
4. Remove the arm of the chair that is next to the guitar.

These would improve your shot, but the arm of the chair is actually the guitar strap... This shot is my favourite of the bunch.

oh yeah....great singer, great guitar player, he's in the process of recording a record...

Thanks for the critique guys....that room is all we really had to work with at the time...hopefully the next time we have a shoot, I'll have some strobist gear...

I love the moodiness of these.

For the first two, I think I'd show a little more of the guitar. If you hadn't told us that was why you shot the picture I either wouldn't have noticed it or not noticed it was there.

In #3, I was curious as to why you don't have more detail in the window. Did you take it out or is it over-exposed?. To me, it sort of looks like he's looking at a projection screen. If he'll be using that part of the picture to put in graphics like an album title, it makes sense. If not, I think I'd leave a little more detail.

I love the "grunginess" of the last one!

Good job on these.
