I am on the learning curve with an XSI. For your review is a picture of a yellow flower I took along the Rogue River while on a Jet Boat trip.

Nice light capture - the backlighting can highlight flowers very well.
I would recommend more DOF and a long exposure. It is hard for me to see the focus point. Did you use a tripod, or handheld?

This was handheld.

Focus point was a little to the right and just above center.
