I visited the osprey nest for the last time yesterday and got to watch the chicks practicing their wing flapping. Thankfully this time I had some sunny skies to work with.

This was just after a liftoff of a few inches from a spot on the right side of the nest. The chicks have been banded - the band is just barely visible on the chick's right leg.

Very nice shots Liz. It's just great to see these birds being so prolific. I actually saw one here this spring, fishing the Myrick park swamp area I go to fairly often. Now maybe population pressure will force some more over here. :)
