Nice shot, I like it. What lens was that shot on?

You got me on the title ;)

Composition wise it's nice, but the conversion to BW was spot on.

I am really impressed with the B&W conversion. It is very good. Any hints on how you accomplished it? It looks like a scan from a true B&W print

Awesome photo. Love Civil War photo's and this is one of the very best photo's of a canon I can remember seeing. Did you do anything extra for the lighting, or was the sun just right?

Me too! Excellent crisp shot on the canon and great foreground and
background! Nice conversion as well!

Not much to not like about this...including the title!

Wouldn't that be CBPS?

Thanks guys for all the comments.

As far as the conversion.....I use Lightroom. I do up the color version the the way I want it. Then I use Mike's (www.lightroomkillertips.com (external link)) B&W (DARK) conversion preset. I then tweak it a bit.

I think in this case the color capture was very good and that lended it's self nicely to he conversion.

Thanks! This made my day...

I would love to say that I spent many hours on setting up this shot....but....I drive by here everyday....and I have my camera everyday.

On this day I was stopped in traffic right in front of it. The light was awesome...so I rolled the window down....framed the shot and click.

When I got to work and got a good chance to look at it I knew I had a good one.
