I have been using my Alienbees B800 for about six months now with no problems at all until this past Sunday. I set up like I normally do but when I started to take some test shots they were turning out half solid black. Like one half of the photo is properly exposed, while the other half is solid black as if I took the photo in a pitch black room. I cleared all settings on my camera and the problem persists. I use a Canon 20d and at the time I was using my Tokina 12-24mm lens. All shots were taken in Manual setting.

This was taken at f/11 & 1/500

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

your camera is limited to 1/250 flash sync.

So anything faster than 1/250 will show exactly what you are seeing above.

Problem solved. Thank you! Its so weird that I have been shooting with this setup for so long and this is the first time I have tried to shoot with a shutter speed faster than 1/250
