It looks like it is heavily cropped, soft or OOF. It appears the camera focused on the fence. There is too much space between the players which I find distracting and the horizon is tilted. I don't mean to sound harsh but this would be a throw away for me. Wrap your ass in fiberglass.... You're only young once but you can be immature the rest of your life

Your original post simply solicited what people thought of the shot, and people were honest. My personal stuff:http://www.flickr.com/photos/jngirbach/sets/

And in the beginning when you start to get results you like, they turn into pictures your not satisfied with later on. The hardest part in the beginning its especially frustrating when you capture something good and it doesn't turn out to be technically great. Practice lets you bring the technical profficiency up while also get your timing and instincts to the point of capturing great seconds (not moments) in time. My suggestion is to go spend the day/afternoon shooting and you will notice that the stuff at the end of the day is better than the earlier stuff.

Jul 23, 2008 14:47 | #11 Honestly the critique was dead on and certainly dished out in a positive manner. Taking the pic down isn't going to help you get any better. If you are that thin-skinned over internet comments when you asked for critique, you might want to rethink why you are on the forum to begin with. 5D Mk IV | 24-105L | 85 1.8 | 70-200L 2.8 IS MkII | 100-400L MkII

I quickly learned I was "doing it wrong". No worries read all the constructive criticism went out and shot the next day, came back the next day and got a few favorable comments on my next shot. What I found out was how genuine, honest and unselfish the members comments were. I have learned so much that I now can see what I considered was a great shot is not the same as I would pick as a great shot. When I look at the photo in the first thread and then the photos in the second thread I really see how much I learned in a week. Below are my first two softball post. Much improvement between the two. Nice Job.. and nice wording above.
