Yep;)

Does that mean in focus now?
Was it just a technical problem in the transfers and resizing... in your opinion?

again thanks.

Aaron

If "Yosemite Sam" had a real Canon, he'd shoot that rabbit every time! Come spring, my ferret and I are loading the 40D and, well... we're going weasel hunting. ;)

Far better now.but her eyes are still soft to me, maybe its more that they are dark, its always great to get those eyes front and center in focus....as mentioned, some fill flash would have done that job?

Jim....

Are you still there? I can't tell.... my eyes are all bloodshot from crying so hard.
Just kidding. ;)
Thank you for your 2 cents worth... but I give it atleast the value of a nickle. :P

Alot of what you said made MUCH sense.

She is unexperianced as a model, but in my opinion has so very much potential as one.
I am unexperianced in shooting people. I'm trying to change that, and she's been a huge asset to me with this goal. She's a wonderful girl.

The first day we both felt discomfert, (as you can now imagine). There were 4 of us there alltogether, I offered no direction AT ALL!!! So she did naturally disconnect from me. Her and I have spoken of this after the fact. We both saw where we needed to improve in this. This is why the 2nd day seems much more "usable". Our comfert levels were much more acceptable, I, (or should I say the camera), exsisted a whole lot more in her eyes on this day. She probably put in alot more effort to improve than I did. I offered little direction this day... but still not as much as I should have. A lot of what you are telling us we've been learning from this together. So without a doubt I am sure she would agree with you as I do.

As far as a pretty girl playing dress up for someone with a camera goes. YOU ARE SO MEAN!!! LOL No that's not what I meant. You are right... expecially on the first day. That would probably be the most accurate way to explain that day... (from both of our stand points), until she was in the field just having fun. Come the 2nd day... I cannot comment to her thoughts, but for me I felt less like she was playing dress up, and less like I was just clicking shots of a pretty girl. I felt like we were in this thing together. We shared a goal. I think she enjoyed the day in a much different way than the 1st time. The 2nd day of shooting made me feel really good about what we were doing. But you are absolutly correct... we have more to learn, and more to work on.

I thank you for all your advice.
Aaron

I still say she looks right at home in that field...look for older barns, tractors etc, she has a down home feel to her( to me anyways)

Flo.... I totaly agree with you. As I KNOW she would.

The "Hippie" theme as she put it was something she was looking forward to doing, and having photos of.

I grew up around fields and barns, and all I ever saw in them were cows, chickens, and pigs. Pretty girls were in magazines enjoying the city.

This girl is completely backwards from all that... and in this day and age it is so refreshing, and enjoyable to see a pretty young woman running her own path.... not following the circles of everyone else... being unique... not to be unique... but to simply be herself.

She is a delight to be around, and her smile is so increadably heart-warming. Comments here have been made about her needing to smile more in the photos. She has... but we can't share all our treasures with everyone. LOL Joking aside... I think one the 2nd day she was intentionally trying to appear serious, she probably thought youthfulness, or playfulness would take away from the make-up and hair. However this is only my guess to that. As I have previously stated, not even on this shoot did we communicate enough. We're working on it.

Oh- one more thing to my previous....

Though she does seem at home with nature.... other things do still need be tried. Expecialy if there is any consideration to a future in modeling or acting. And she has expressed on more than one occation that acting would be her dream come true.

We have to come up with some well thought out themes of veriety.
YEAH Jim... I am agreeing with you again. :P

I think that with some work on your exposure and compsition you will be fine. The biggest things I see here are that you are both new and as such she is not very strong with her posing and connection to the camera. And you are not exposing the correct part of the photo in some cases. For instance in the plane shot I would have let the sky go to get her exposed properly. As it is she seems a little under exposed to me. If you want both the sky and the model you are going to need some strobes and/or an assistant with a reflector. If this is something she wants to continue doing she should start practicing posing and facial expressions in the mirror at home and looking at fashion mags for ideas. It also helps you to look at the fashion mags for composition and lighting ideas. Stuff like Vouge, W, Harpers Bazaar, Nylon, Elle. Keep shooting and experimenting and you will be fine.

I corrected the photobucket issue with the photos on the first page aswell as reposted them in my previous post.

Now they look like they do here on my computer.
I'll take the shots now. LOL

I was just looking at the last photo put up.... and I come to realize... that one was meant to be deleted anyways. LOL It was a version I played with a photoshop add-on called portraiture with. And I did not like it at all. Ooops. LOL

That was the only one with real PPing and I didn't like it. Guess I should pay more attention next time. So I'll toss up one more to make up for it. ;)

The set with the green dress has a lot of implication going for it. The forest-like background, the water falls, her beautiful spritely hair and her green dress conjures up the notion of a sprite and her magical existance in 'never never land'. I was expecting to see her translucent wings.

I agree about trying other things, but to me, she exudes innocence and playfullness, the tough girl and war paint just doesn't make me want to look at the photo for long.
They have to be flattering to her...

She refered to that dress as her "Tinkerbell" dress.
