Hi guys, I ordered my Canon EOS 40D over the internet (42photo.com) and it arrived a few days ago. After a few days of happily using it, I decided to download the photos to my desktop today. To my concern, one of the photos (of ~100; not a very high ratio, but I'm still a bit worried) turned out to be corrupted. While I've done some research and I'm fairly sure it is the Compact Flash card, I'm still frightened it could be a problem with the camera. The equipment I used: Canon EOS 40D, Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Standard Zoom Lens, PNY Optima Pro UDMA 4GB 266x CompactFlash Memory Card

The image appears as follows.

Any help as to the cause of the problem is appreciated, thanks!

Could be the card reader, or are you transferring direct from camera?

The 40D does not support UDMA. Try another card.

Try downloading the image from the card a second time to see what you get. I had a similar problem that turned out to be a bad memory module in my PC.

If you are downloading via a reader, that could be having a problem as well.

Whenever I see these posts on corrupt images (with the photos to show) it usually turns out to be the card (do a search on corrupt images).

Try a SanDisk, Ultra or Extreme, they are the only cards I use in my cameras.
