This is an HDR composite image, but I decided to let the foreground remain dark.

How did you find a clear day in Washington? 6D, G9, Sigma 50 1.4, Sigma 15mm Fisheye, Sigma 50 2.8 macro, Nikon 14-24G 2.8, Canon 16-35 2.8 II, Canon 24-105 f/4 IS, Canon 70-200 2.8 IS, tripod, lights, other stuff.

Jul 23, 2008 14:53 | #3 Reply to Irishman. Thanks for the compliment. I used a CP that enhanced the sky color. The very subtle slightly off-yellow-orange coloration of the morning-sun-illuminated-clouds (on the extreme right of the photograph) is real and due (possibly) to air-borne forest fire soot from fires near Mt Adams; plus ordinary clouds moving out of the scene. The shot was more of a lucky find than a planned thing. I'm not sure the HDR composite gained much; perhaps a little more detail. Sherrard Point on Larch Mt. (Oregon) is a great location for viewing Adams, St. Helens, Hood and Jefferson.
