Alien Bee Questions

I need some help people.

Im debating on selling 2 of my Canon 430ex's (I have 3) and getting an Alien Bee 400 or 800.

Is this worth it? Ill be using the lighting for cars pics and people pics. Will 1 Canon 430ex and 1 Alien Bee work as well, worse or better?

Here are two examples I only used Speedlites with.

HTTP response: NOT FOUND | MIME changed to 'image/gif' | Redirected to error image by FLICKR

Personally it looks like you can do a great job with speedlites.....why change?

I have 4 Alien Bee 800's and love them.
The only problem using them on location is you have to have AC Power.
When using speed lights all you need is AA batteries, and the bees have to have power packs or a special kind of generator when you don’t have AC Power.

You could add a Vagabond II to the package and have AC on location. Adds a bit to the price which is why I'm still in the analyze mode with that.

I agree - you're doing a great job with what you have.
