what is a light meter worth?

i was watching a few minolta autometer IV f flash meters on ebay. right now there are 3, they are still under 50 bucks, but still have a few days. i think i could swing the price of about 100, but hoping for less.


Canon 5D III, 17-40 f4, 50 f1.4, 85 f1.8, 600 ex rt flash

I bought my minolta autometer IV flash meter new back in the late 90s
Paid about $450

Are you sure you didn't buy a Minolta Flashmeter IV ?! Minolta Autometer IV was about $250 in the early 90's !

The Kenko 1100, which is based on the Minolta Autometer V, is only $230 new today.

the minoltas i was looking at are all over 100 bucks now, and still have a day or more to go. there's one that is still a high bid of 50, but 3 days to go.
i hate to sound cheap, just i've been out of a job for a while, partly due to some medical issues. and now for the life of me i can't find a job anywhere. so i'm fighting off being bummed out by trying to have a "plan", something to hope for.
