Greetings,
I'm a noob to photography. I just bought an XTi with the kit lens and I've been taking pictures of everything and just trying to play with the settings. I'm finally starting to get a few decent pics here and there (i think). just thought i'd post one to see what everything thinks. thanks for looking. -Dan

photo was shot at 1/125, f4.5, ISO 200, and i bumped up the sharpness in DPP.

not bad.

I would have had 5.6....the tip of the tongue is starting to get a bit soft at 4.5.

thats pretty dang sharp for a kit lens, nice colors too.

Great picture, just needs a bit of post processing. Bit of saturation, contrast, slight color change and there ya have it. Hope you don't mind the edit. I'll remove if so.

Over all I think this is a pretty good shot, especially for a first attempt. As redman stated, it could use a little more pp, but otherwise, the eyes are nice and sharp, good composition (good use of the rule of thirds here), etc.. Normally I prefer shots where the dog is actually looking at the camera, but I think this one works well as is...he's got that "throw the ball" expression there :D.

Good job!

Peace,
Jim
