He throws it very limited, but when he does he's ahead in the count usually. His knockout pitch is the circle change so no need to rush the development of a secondardy pitch when he already has one. He doesn't throw it out of the zone - I want him to learn to throw it as a strike. If it hangs and gets crushed so be it. Kids got great control though he slows down, was gunned 75 last year at 14 but in the games this year he was much slower just workin on mechanics - which is kind of the point of it all at JV.
To be honest the Canon is light years ahead of the Siggy. The color, contrast and sharpness from 2.8 and beyond is night and day to me. But you know what, I also miss the 120-300 zoom I would have with the siggy at times as well.
But your also talking about almost a 2,000 dollar difference lens wise.
THe speed, IS and quality of the 300 is amazing.
Having switched from the 120-300 to the 300 a couple seasons ago the range is what I missed the most at first, but you come to not miss it very fast with all the things you mentioned. The price is worth it because the gear is a long term investment into the profession, mine paid for itself VERY quickly I think, about 6 months or so it was paid off easily. It's well worth it, now I just need to get the 400 for football season
