Just placed an order for my new lighting!
My budget was a little tighter than I had hoped, so I went with the Genesis 200 2-light kit. I was seriously debating over the Elinchrom D-lites, or Alien Bees, but the price of the Genesis kit was just too good to pass up.
I have seen many good reviews on these lights, so hopefully I wont be let down.
I also bought a couple of speedrings, and the Photoflex 54x72 softbox.

Good deal Chris. Congrats. I think you'll be very happy and you're going to love that large Photoflex softbox. Please give us your impressions once you receive the goods.

Welcome to the Genesis 200 Owner's Club, Chris. The Genesis lights offer HUGE bang-for-the-buck. I'm sure you'll be very satisfied with your purchase. Dozens of questions regarding these strobes have been asked and answered on this forum so help is never more than one "search" away.

One tidbit to get you started: I've found the lightstand mount on my Genesis lights has a hard time locking tight enough to support a 36" x 48" softbox. The light and mounted softbox will invariably flop forward if I'm not careful. It will be interesting to hear how your lights handle the massive Photoflex softbox you ordered.

If you find the Genesis mount isn't up to the task, I believe you can thread a standard 5/8" stud/spigot into the edge of the Photoflex speedring and mount the ring to a heavy duty "swivel" like this one from Photoflex:

Thanks guys!
Robert, I will give a full review once I get them.
Dave, I forgot to mention, I did order the heavy duty swivel for the large softbox. I figured it would put a strain on the light, and I didn't want to break something.

Good call Chris. I'm sure Dave is right about that. THe Photoflex speedring and mount works very nicely and takes all the stress off the mount.
