Looking to see if anyone has experience creating dividers similar to the velcro dividers offered by Pelican. Specifically I'm using an old Pelican (King) Case 1600. I bought it used for $50, but the velcro divider set (external link) ($90) and foam replacement pieces (external link) ($55) are prohibitively expensive for me. Looking for an alternative and I imagine others are too. Did a search but I couldn't find anything.

Go to U-Haul and buy the cardboard box they sell with dividers for crystal goblets. Use the dividers for your Pelican after trimming as necessary.

I made some pouches / cases for my camera and lenses out of a foam camping sleeping mat (like this: http://www.walmart.com …uct.do?product_id=9856753 (external link)) I then got another mat to create a thing for the camera and lens cases to fit in to stop them moving around in the bag. I fastened them all together using a mixture of super glue and duck tape, the mat I used had a smooth silver layer which I used for the inside of the cases, and then wrapped the outside foam bit in duck tape to give it a smoother appearence. Though you could use fabric and either sew it, or if your like me, super glue it around the sides to give a smooth finish. Velcro can be bought cheap enough from sewing / fabric / haberdashery shops. Hey presto, you have a cheap lining / divider thing!

Sounds like a good suggestion - I'll hve to check that out.

I was looking for more of an alternative that appears and functions more like the Pelican branded stuff. There has to be some generic brand dividers, no?
