Hi guys,

Rmodys is on another messageboard that I frequent (www.montecarloss.com (external link)), and he suggested that I register here to learn a few things from you since I'm still pretty inexperienced with SLRs. I've taken an intro to photography class in college last year, but that's about it.

Anyways, I finally picked up a tripod and thought I’d give this whole HDR thing a shot. I like the idea of combining several exposures to bring out the details in each, but I’m not a big fan of “extreme” HDR photos with all the crazy halos and neon colors, so I tried to keep these subdued.

I’m trying to improve my photography skills in general (With a lean towards automotive photography), so all critiques are welcome.

I’m looking forward to seeing what you guys think so I can start working on things.

location is kind of boring/dull, but they seem mostly well exposed

Third one is my favorite. Good use of HDR to bring out shadow detail, tame the highlights, but still make a realistic looking image.

I like the processing on #3, but the close buildings are killing the nice highlights I want to see in the body. Some "light" reading for the weekend: A few Car Lighting Tips - Updated

I hear you on the boring location. I need to explore my area and find some better places to take photos. This was a convenient spot behind a local school where I could set up and take my time.

Nice, thanks for the reading material, and thanks for the welcome! I'm sure I'll be spending a lot of time here.
