I am wanting to take a few pics of my new neice..who is only 5 weeks old. I will be taking them inside... and wondered what tips, advice anyone has for getting a few great shots? Poses..or settings on the camera would be helpful. I don't have a studio, or big bright lights..so I was thinking near a window perhaps? Thanks

definatly near a window.
what I have done with my daughter is to place some pillows on our sofa near the edge then place her on the pillows chest down with her head close to the edge. (obviously make sure its all secure and have someone near by)
then you can get low down and shoot her hopefully lifting her head up a little if she can do that.

another option move a table to face a window place some soft blankets in the table and place her again chest down near the edge of the table. cross her arms one over the other then place her head on arms. then take the shoot straight on. try and get a neutral background behind her. window light straight onto her.

do you have an external flash? you can get some nice shots bouncing that of a wall and using a cheap reflector.

hope that helps a little.
