I like it because it really evokes emotion and I kinda feel right now like that sunflower looks. Had a lousy week, lots of car trouble (had to get towed twice because they didn't fix it right the first time).

Thanks! Glad you liked it. I hate cars and personally think they should be banned and we'd all be a lot better off once we got used to it.

Not your usually sunflower shot and not what I was expecting, but I think that's why I like it.

It must be difficult to grow sunflowers that look dead...
Great shot.

Nice shot. I like the composition with the "dead"field and the sky as a background. It appears that the seeds are still in the head. At my house the house-finches start pilfering them before the petals have fallen. In fact, they seem to believe that if they pull all of the petals off, the seeds will ripen sooner. Too bad it's illegal to shoot them within the city limits. My wife thinks sunflowers are one of the prettiest flowers - comes from being raised in South Dakota.

Thanks Jeff, I love sunflowers and fields, unfortunately I've not run across any this season. The are not growing in the fields where I shot these. I may have to go on a sunflower expedition. :)
