Had a lousy week, lots of car trouble (had to get towed twice because they didn't fix it right the first time).

I like the composition with the "dead"field and the sky as a background. It appears that the seeds are still in the head. At my house the house-finches start pilfering them before the petals have fallen. In fact, they seem to believe that if they pull all of the petals off, the seeds will ripen sooner. Too bad it's illegal to shoot them within the city limits. My wife thinks sunflowers are one of the prettiest flowers - comes from being raised in South Dakota. Life is not measured by the number breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away.

Jul 25, 2008 18:15 | #15 Thanks Jeff, I love sunflowers and fields, unfortunately I've not run across any this season. The are not growing in the fields where I shot these. I may have to go on a sunflower expedition. Kenny A. Chaffin
