Hello everybody

ive just bought a refurbished 350 body and have my own lenses from my film eos. the new camera takes pictures using the viewfinder but the screen does not show the image except after a picture has been taken. so the screen works but not for taking pictures.

the lens ive tried is canon zoom lens EF 80-200mm 1:4.5-5.6 II

so can anyone advise me as to whether this problem sounds like a lens or camera issue|? i was told the lens would work on digital cameras when i bought it last year

hope this makes sense

thanks for your time

That's how it's supposed to work the picture only shows on the LCD after you take the shot , everything is working great.

You need to do some more research on how a digital SLR works; except for the recent models e.g. 40D/1dIII/etc you cannot compose using the LCD screen. Look up how digital SLRs work and it will become clear why!

With the 350D you can not compose/shoot via the screen,, you compose via the viewfinder..
