A shortage of willing models at my house prompted me to eat lunch out today and take a little walk. Found a couple of willing (?) models who were very good and holding a pose.

This is my all-time favorite quote and I was pleased to find in engraved on this copper plaque. The fieldstone wall added some nice texture and I couldn't resist taking a picture.

Nice shots, love the quote. Is it part of the same sculpture?

Damn that's cool! I like the second shot and the one of the plaque. I'd like to see a wider shot of the wall :)

Thanks! I was pleased with how they came out. I am not so fond of my 70-200 F/4L at long distances, my hands shake to0 much, but for mid and closer stuff, it is a fine lens.

Nope. It is in the same park and sits near another sculpture of a stack of books (all classic titles) done in bronze. It is a very nice little mid-city park.

This quote can be applied to so many endeavors in life, including photography!

The first picture in the thread is the girl on top, and you can see the hanging boy on the right side of the second picture in this post.

Thanks!

I was attracted by the textures and the incongruity of the hard brick being used to replicate the soft skin of a person.

Nice shots - strangely they were more appealing when I didn't know what the whole sculpture looked like.

That's what so incredibly well done here, what the OP chose as the composition. :)

Understandable. The statue itself is kinda kitschy, like you would find a smaller version made into a pencil holder on a teacher's desk.
