I just picked up a strobist kit; it seems like I can really let my creativity flow now and create the scene where as w/ landscape you have to wait for the right light and make compromises in terms of composition. Perhaps I will get in a rut w/ the strobes as well, but from what I can see it's less likely. Robert McCadden

A semi-professional photographer (he did landscape) told me at one point that if you get one great picture per 200 shots or so, you are doing pretty well. So every time I go and shoot, I try to at least get one good one. It's just patience and practice.

So every time I go and shoot, I try to at least get one good one. It's just patience and practice. What's funny is that the more research I've done to improve myself, the worse I think my pictures have artistically become because I focus on the technicalities more. It's give and take for me. If I focus on the artistic attributes, I forgot something technical. One day, I'll have it down. If you're really bummed out, go and show your pictures to someone that doesn't do photography. It always makes me feel better ![]() Good luck! John Same here. I'll read here or in one of the books I have. The next day i'll go out shooting only concentrating on what it was that I read about the day before, and I forget about the rest. Unfortunately I used to show my pics to others who didnt take pictures often, yet stopped when they pointed out that mine didnt look any better than theirs, and they spent $1500 less on their setup Note: This post may contain misspellings, grammatical errors, disorganized sentence structure, or may entirely lack a coherent theme.
