Jul 25, 2008 20:05 | #4 do you use it at full power at its max recycle time? It is horrible to think but its possible you may have blown the flash tube...In the canon manual there should be a section on how many shots you can take within a period of time before needing it to cool off for 10 or 20 minutes... _______________

Yes I do actually, it is outdoors when I use it at max power. It says.. "To avoid overheating and deteriorating the flash head, do not fire rapid bursts of more than 20 continuous flashes. After 20 continuous flashes, allow a rest time of at least 10 min." I know I have done that but I don't think 20 continuous shots. I don't think! http://markgoodwinphotography.smugmug.com

Does the red LED light up? Does it fire when you push the pilot button? Does it sound like it is charging the capacitor? Does it fire if you short out the contactor on the side of the foot and center pin on the flash? The last time was July 13 http://markgoodwinphotography.smugmug.com
