Yeah, I'm behind... I'm just now getting a chance to post these.. I actually Post-proc'd these a bit.. mainly
1. Straightened those that were crooked
2. boost saturation
3. sharpen
4. crop to 8x10 aspect ratio... not necessarily in that order
Taken with my Sigma 50-500mm. (wish I had the 100-400 back then)
So here goes..

Ok, first piece of advice - follow posting rules...limit is 8. Asking people to C&C 14 images just takes to long and anyone should be able to get a feel for your work through 8 if you post your best action and what you captured most.

The images look oversharpened and a little too hot in some, which happens when dealing with harsh cap shadows and trying to get the face which it looks like you were doing. Action in some is good, #2 to me makes the hitter look bad as he's either missing it or that's a Willy Mays Hayes hit. Pitcher crop tighter (10)...and overall get lower to see more of there faces if at all possible (which we all know isn't always possible). Overall the actions good, nice to see fundamentals like in #6 - but not so much in #11 where so many things are wrong, but he got it down. :)

Thanks for the feedback.

I don't know about you, but I'm 6'2" and to get any lower would mean I'd be laying on the ground. :) I was sitting on a 3-legged fold-up stool that's only bout 12" off thee ground and then leaning forward resting elbows on knees for support. Squatting or kneeling can be hard on my knees.

I find it very difficult to pick 8 photos out of a bunch that I'd like to get feedback on. Batters are somewhat easy to pick-over 'cause most times they're just swinging away anyway.. getting to catch a bunt was a bit different though. But I see how I can limit these more.

Fielding many times is unique to each photo, at each position, which is where it's really hard to limit my picks.

Easy solution is pick 8 best and then a link to others if someone is willing to go check them out - that's what I was told to do when I posted 9 one time, they linked the 9th so it wasn't embedded. Going through 14 shots just gets annoying, portfolios are usually 5-10 shots at most and thats supposed to be the best work from ones career.

Coaching I see things the kid is doing wrong and makes me not like the photo as much....1-5, 8 could easily not be in the group to make it 8. #1 he's fielding the ball wrong and you have him later fielding it a little better, #2 makes the hitter look bad as he either missed it or its a squiber, #3 is hit or miss, his bats in the zone but the ball isn't. #4 looks like he missed a low and away, a split second later (if he hit it) would be better, but from this pic looks like it's a whiff, #5 routine easy play with no action, #8 just standing there again lookin like it's between innings and he's gettin a ball from the ump or something. The rest I would say are your top 8.

6'3" with two bad knees from football for so many years here and not exactly on the "small" side here, so know all about how uncomfortable it can get. Our fields here you have no choice but to stand as you shoot through a gate door where you usually shoot over other kids wandering around (for this age group at least). You can get on the field but then the only place to stand is right in front of the parents, which is obstructing there view so can't do that. Most you can tell you were low enough, but 12 for example looks like you were stretching your knees standing :) The fielding ones with his head down you'd have to be under him laying on the ground, which isn't bad - means he's doing it right watching the ball into the glove.

#8 was a continuation of #7 as he was expecting the 1st baseman to throw it back because of the runner on 3rd.

#12 was one where I may have actually been on top of the bleachers.. there were a couple of those.

#4 I liked because of the follow-through.

#3 I agree you can't tell if it were a hit/miss b/c there's no ball where you might expect to see it, unlike #4, you wouldn't expect to see the ball because he's in the follow-through.

This field had a 6 ft fence from about 10 ft past first, behind home (taller) and around to about 10 ft past third. Most of the down-low shots were taken from the end of this fence.

Thanks again. All good stuff. :)
