I'll say lens. You'll still be using it in 10 or 15 years when the Mk3 will be a relic. You know a replacement will be coming sooner rather than later... your lens will still look shiny and new.

And the lens will be close to its original value. The camera value on the other hand depreciates so quickly. I'd say that unless you are unhappy with your current camera setup, then go for the lens.

Yeah, wait a couple years, you might be able to get one for $3000 instead of $4000. lol

can already get for $3000, thats why I'm looking. I am trying to get one of the newer ones, not one that need AF fix.

Funny thing is 1 series bodies do hold resale very well...

Hrm!

You have an excellent lens line up. I think the AF and speed from the 1D would benefit you much more then an extra stop of light.
