Part of the zoom head bracket in my Canon 580 ex flash head is broken after it suffred a nasty fall. Anyone in Australia have an old 540, 550 or 580 flash that doesn't work that they want to sell as parts?

Thanks Adam

Ask in the POTN Aussie thread - there's a couple of people in there who I'm sure could help you who do flash repairs themselves and whatnot.

Also, you could try calling Canon and asking them for the part.

Thanks Jim.

Canon charge over $150 for the part as they won't sell the peice I need and so it comes as a complete section.

Cheers Adam

Where are you getting this quote? If it's from Canon Service, that is a flat-rate fee I believe. You can most likely buy whatever you need from Canon Parts hotline.. I'm not sure if they ship to AUS but it's worth a shot.

Troubleshooting 101 (see also: LightRules,perryge):
1) RTFM.
2) Repeat Step 1.
