Anybody own the Kata R-101? I'm looking for a smaller backpack (currently have Tamrac Expedition 7) that will hold the following:

5D + grip
70-200 f/2.8 IS
35L
17-40L
430Ex

Will the Kata R-101 accomodate that or do I need the R-102? The Tamrac Expedition 7 is a great bag. It's just too big and bulky to lug around for little day trips. Plus I have a tendency to lug all my gear along if I use that bag :)

I almost fill my R102 with a similar, perhaps slightly bigger, quantity of equipment. Unless you can take your gear to a retailer and try the R101 (and/or the other options), then you should always buy a bit bigger than you think you need.

I agree about the size of that Tamrac: the Expedition series is far too bulky.
