Well, I just got my Lee filter holder and adapter ring yesterday. A wonderful piece of work. I ordered a GND .6 filter from Hi-Tech to go with it and it got here first. And it already had finger prints on it, before I ever had a holder to slide it in to. Man, that resin must hold fingerprint static, cause prints seem to jump off my fingers and right onto the edges of it.

Since getting the holder, and going right out to take some shots of ground and clouds, I also notice that while the resin may be hard, it also gets microscratches fairly easily. And I actually handled the filter material with white cotton document gloves on. [don't laugh, I know it looked funny] Still, it did get some scratches or scuffs that I can see when I turn it to reflect the light off them.

So, I have ordered some nice velvet envelopes and some cleaning fluid designed for the Lee filters. Now, how do I use it when it get's here? I have a pack of Pec-Pads, is that soft enough, or use something else? What do you use? Show pics if you have any. :)

Did you get the Lee filters or Hi-Tech filters? I ask this because their dimensions are different. The Lee filters that I have are 4X6, and I like this dimension because it gives me enough "manipulating room." As for cleaning thumb prints, I use a cleaning fluid with a large microfiber cloth that I also use for wrapping the filter itself with when housing in the pouch that came with it.

For handling I use a microfiber glove that I got from a Dollar Store for.... you guessed it, $1.... :D

I do have the white cotton gloves and used them after the first handling, LOL too late. I have the Lee holder, but bought a Hi-Tech filter, same width and fits the 4 inch Lee holder, but it's only 5 inches long, not 6, and it still fits the holder with enough room to slide the graduated part up or down. Oh yeah, it's $30 cheaper. ;)

I have some envelopes and pouches coming, so that is OK, but now I see there is a Kit with a microfiber chamois and fluid that I need to order. :)

Does that stuff work for those pesky CPL's as well? I have a Hoya Pro-1 CPL that is absolutely awful to clean. I seem to make it worse every time I try.

Yep, works like a charm. Best cleaner I ever used. I hit the CPL or filter with the rocket blower then one spray on a microfiber cloth and buff clean...Jeff
