Most of the time when I shoot a photo of a person that is not looking at the designated red eye reduction place in the camera, the eyes come out red which i hate...they scare me...:o)...I fix the problem with the provided program (photostudio 5.5), most of the time manualy, and I really like the software which I recomend for beginers like me.

Anyway, Is there any way to take photos without a red eye (except for buying an external flash)?

Any tips?... I Thank you in advance...... Artan

Tell your subject not to look directly at you will minimize red eye.

The only way the red-eye reduction feature of the flash is GOING to work is if you have them look right at the camera so that the white beam of light that is emitted will have the desired effect on the subjects pupils. So if you have red-eye reduction set on the camera - but then your subjects do not look AT the camera when it is emitting that beam of light - it does no good.

Red eye reduction sends out light prior to the flash being triggered so as to contrict the pupils and hence avoid the red eye in your shots.

The best thing i did was to use the 420ex flash that i got for my G2-3 on my new Geeee6.It got rid of the red-eye problem for me and it is great to bounce the flash for inside flash work.Tealblue

Canon Speedlite 420EX - in my opinion. The best balance of features and size. It is bulky - but I find that it is very workable on my G5.
