It's a Ginger!

She's cute and it is a nice photo.

If I had to critique something, it would be that I can't really tell where your point of focus is. Different parts of her face are sharp and some parts are softer, but not on a single plane (if that makes any sense at all) Oh, and I don't personally care for the crop, I think a little more room around the head would look nicer, but that is a pure preference thing, not a technical issue.

I personally like to see white on both sides of the eyeball. By turning her head and shoulder slightly towards you, that will also position the bridge of the nose so that it doesn't cast a shadow on the left eye.
All in all, good start and lovely model.

Nice pic! I'd crop the sunglasses out of the top, but that's just me. There's not enough of them there to add much to the picture.

I was using my new 85mm f/1.8 and the DOF is sooooo shallow. Hence the focus issues. I guess I should have stopped it down a bit. There was no cropping done whatsoever.
Thanks for the comments. The feedback is invaluable in the learning process.

I agree. Cropping out the sunglasses loses nothing except a potential distraction. Othwerwise I think it's a great pic.

I agree again.

It may just be my monitor, but the skintone seems to have a very slight purple-ish tint to it. Maybe the white balance is a little off?
