I spent a couple days in the middle of nowhere visiting my parents this weekend. Not much to do over there, but the views are great!

The first two don't show up for me. Just the Flickr thingy. Love the last shot though! Can't wait to see the first two. :)

Same. I do like the barn a bit too centered though.

Nice shots Meglet. Number two would look great bigger. Is this the barn you shot from the wrong side of the no trespassing sign? :)

Like the 2nd best. Barn needs a more appealing perspective.

Darn Flickr links. I thought I had those fixed last night. At least the barn showed up, it was my favorite of the three.

Yes, this is the barn where I avoided the "No Trespassing" sign. They were on the OTHER road to the barn, so they don't count. :) Actually, I was able to shoot this from the side of the road anyway, and I think I can do the same on the other side. If not, I'm pretty sure my parents know the owners so I can probably get permission to walk around a little.

I think for this one, the centered barn works because of the way the fence leads up to it on both sides. Even so, I admit I was slightly surprised by how much I really liked the way it turned out.

I'm still not quite happy with the framing on the second one, but it was taken from a cemetery and I discovered that I couldn't bring myself to walk across the graves to get a better angle. Next time I'll wear better shoes so I can get to that side of the cemetery without crossing the graves-sandals are not good for crossing ditches. It still makes a very nice wallpaper on my 24" iMac.

+1

I really like that old weathered barn, but maybe it would like a little more interesting with a different perspective.

Really like these. Curious how much / what type of post processing you did?

Shazza, PP was just some contrast, saturation, and brightness adjustment in the Bibble Labs software that I use instead of Photoshop. Then I added a little bit more contrast to the barn and the mountains in GIMP.

I like the centered barn in shot 3. Something about symmetry in wide angle shots looks good to me.
