In a world of automatic transmissions, it's always good to know how to drive a manual. I figure the same applies to cameras. Even though we are in the digital age of cameras, it can't hurt to learn how to use a film camera (say if I'm out in the field and my batteries all run out on me).

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The EOS 5 is a really good camera for the price its selling at used nowadays. If you have a bit more to spare, try the EOS 3 or 1v, superb cameras.

Elan II's are dirt cheap. They all require batteries though. Any EOS mount will because it's electrical. You'll need an old M42/Screwmount, Pentax K-Mount, or Canon FD mount camera for non-battery wind-it-up operation. Nikon's old mount (whatever it's called) should have battery-less cameras too...all of the above being manual focus.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)
