Has anyone ever heard of ways to make use of unused film cameras?
My neighbour is going to install a webcam at the focal plane of a generic EOS film body. That way he can play with different lens magnifications, etc

I was thinking of using them to convert old tele lenses into spotting scopes but havent got around to it as yet.

Also -hope this doesn't sound insulting to those still using film, thats not the intention- has anyone ever seen humour articals on this subject?
i.e -"10 uses for a plastic point and shoot" or similar?lol:D

My main experience with 35mm film camera's is with the Olympus brand.

They had a removable back. Its a pity they never made a digital attachment to fit right in its place.

Just me living in the past maybe ;)

More of a mallet. The body's not strong enough to drive nails.

It can do a hell of a job tenderizing meat, though!

You need an F2 w/ grip if you want a hammer.

"gift for a friend" LOL
How did that work out,Are they still talking to you?

Actually i gave away a couple of SLR's in the philippines when i visited there. They were very much appreciated.Film cameras are still used ,mostly becuase money to buy anything new is scarce.Mind you it's impossible to sell film cameras for the same reason-no one wants to spend on them when they could be saving for a digital

ron chappel,
They loved the gift :)
B&W film was there true love, and there Rebel XT didn't cut it for them. So receiving the film camera (Minolta X-700's) with lenses was just what they wanted. :)

I was happy for my old 35mm film cameras, as I gave them a good home
