I sold my 28-135mm kit lens that came with my 40D. I have the two following choices for replacement lens.
17-40mm + 430EX flash (lots of dough)
or
24-60 Sigma (little dough)
Also, is the shutter on the 40D replaceable when it's broken?

Jul 28, 2008 12:42 | #6 I am really looking for an all around combination. xarqi wrote in post #5998468 With respect, that seems like an odd pair of choices to have to choose from: a very good lens and a flash, versus a relatively cheap 3rd party lens. Unless there are some constraints that you haven't mentioned, I think the choice is obvious: the 17-40/430EX combination. Are you open to other suggestions? Do you have a budget in mind? What sort of photography do you do, or wish to do?
