Old Planes

Some old planes flew by, quickly manage to switch to AI Servo and set the exposure stuff to

Shutter Speed: 1/250Sec.
Aperture: F11
ISO: 100

These where shot with kit lens at 55mm, and this shot is a 100% crop from that image, (can't get much closer with that lens)

Process, imported RAW to DPP, changed picture profile to standard, picked white balance from the cloud behind the planes, saved as 8bit exif tiff. Opened in GIMP and did the 800x600 crop and saved as jpeg (appears gimp ignored the exif data in the tiff, so their is no exif in the jpeg)

Going to an airshow with a 55mm lens you are pretty much limited to shooting the people in the crowds. Maybe some shots of planes on the ground if you can get close enough, but that's about it.

Thats not an air show, that's the view from the attic of my house

And yes sometimes the planes get a lot closer and lower, but only when the wind changes. I'm thinking about getting an EF-s 55-250 sometime soon that would be a lot better i think.
