I'm not old, just married and by technicality I would be "older" than you if we went by marriage being that I was married for a year before you were?

Holy Crap!!! 3 new pages already!?!?

Anyways, quick question for EVERYBODY!!!! Should I get a 580exII or a 430ex? I'm not going to be getting another flash for a while (probably) so I don't think I would need the master capabilities of the 580, especially since I'm getting a wireless studio trigger anyway (clicky (external link)). The 580 has a lot more power but the 430 is better price wise and the difference in power shouldn't be toooo noticeable. So what do y'all think?

Get the 430ex, you won't need the slave capabilities until you have another flash, and that other flash down the road can be the 580. :)

If you can go for the 580 first and get a 430 later.

That's what I was thinking, when the 580 is an "older" model ;)

Well, if I go with the 580 I'm going to be racking up a $561.66 bill (something I don't really want to do). if I go with the 430 it will be a bit lower, and as stated above I don't know if I need the 580's power or slave control. I seem to recall a bunch of folks who shall remain un-named ragging on me about learning with what I have instead of grabbing the biggest and best, so think of the 580 as a temporary 5D. I want it, but don't really need it and probably won't know how to use it to it's highest potential

Who's good at captions? There's one on my blog needing some love, and I super-suck at that. LOL.

Everyone must be off watching the last season of ER.

Not a chance! Yuck!

BrokenRoad wrote in post #6550363 (external link)
not I. I can hear Kyle watching southpark. I'm totally not missing out on anything. The only thing I watch right now is Dexter and Californication. Weeds during that season too.

I just started watching that Dexter show... not too bad. but I really want Battlestar Galactica to come back. Grrrr gotta wait until Jan.

I did yesterday but they didn't last long here.
My husband cleans the kitchen. He says I don't do it right. I don't complain.

LOL welll..... uhhmmmm I guess I might have something in common with your husband. LOL I do the dishes here too, my wife does them fine, but I like the look of the place better when I do it. cause I do it 'right' LOL

WOOOHOOOO! Congrats! the drinks are on the person that makes the mark. so... that's you. of course that means you will have to tell us what the drinks are, that may determine who will share them with you. LOL ;)

I think you might want to try that popup flash first! it is WAAAAYY More reasonable price! use the equipment you have first... LOL

LOL JK! I got the 580 cause I expect to upgrade to a multi flash system in not too many years... however if you are sure that you won't be doing that then. I don't see why you would need the 580. Of course, the 580 will likely be upgraded again in a year so... I dunno. it's your choice, is your money burning a hole in your pocket?

you should save for college LOL
