One of my wife's CCD kids (6th graders) lost her mother early this morning of an aortic aneurysm. My wife got the call just before she had to leave to teach, how sad that has to be for the family, and many of the kids in the class are all friends.

Oh how sad! I'm sorry to hear it.

Good morning I think. This weekend has been an interesting one. I'm going to try to catch up before I head over to Kyle's uncles house to watch their boys. Family drama and loss.

LOL, I was up a little late last night, but delved through the first batch of shots...nice thing with that is there's very little processing actually needed...sharpen eyes a little, adjust contrast, clone mom's hand out of needed, that kind of stuff. ;)

It looks nice outside, I think I'm taking the heathens outside for a while today because they are wound UP.

lucky the wind is awful. Well I guess it doesn't matter they'll be dropped off at their own sitter today.

It's Trick-or-Treat day. Kid has Sylvan Learning this morning, we cut it to an hour this morning so as not to interfere. She is so excited to get going!

BTW guys, Leigh's (BrokenRoad's) family is in need of some good thoughts, prayers, moondances, whatever ya'll do....they had a bit of a tragedy in their extended family yesterday. All the kids are fine, but I'll let her give details if she wants to. I'm thinking we won't see here around here for a little while, although I may be wrong.

Thanks Di. I'll post in a moment all it's own.

Kyle's cousin is in jail right now. Early Saturday morning he ran over his girlfriend. He was so doped up that we still don't know what happened. We know that the story he gives is totally false. She had a restraining order on him. The girlfriend also happens to be the sister of the uncle(above)'s fiance. It's a horrible situation and my heart is aching for them. Oh and the cousin is being charged with DUI, vehicular manslaughter. From what I was told earlier is that violation of a restraining order will be added and the manslaughter will be bumped up.
It's going to be a very trying time for his family. I'm going to help out as much as I can. So I'm not sure how much I'll be on in the next few days, unless they don't need me one day.

Good luck Leigh, I am sorry to hear it. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Well people I had a great day yesterday, we spent the whole day at a local theme park, it was so fun! Except that I completely lost my voice, the mix of having a little cold, cold dry air, and screaming means that I really can't even talk today ha ha.

Umm poor you? 84° Are you sure that's not a typo?

Hahaha, Nice pics though. :) Di, did you get the family pics you were wanting?

So we were going to go to two different events yesterday, I think I covered this yesterday, but I got sick, so just the trunk or treat this weekend...

LOL, right Kay...complaining about 84degree water. I sure wouldn't be.

Trunk or treat? That's a new one! Sounds like you live in a GREAT neighborhood. ;)

Eeks! Some would consider not being able to talk a good thing...but I don't love losing my voice. With kids, its just not usually a good thing. ;)

Haha, a trunk or treat, (I didn't come up with the name, LOL!) is when a bunch of people take their cars to a parking lot and decorate their cars, and have a sort of carnival with treats and games at each car etc... I know it's not just LDS that do it cause there's a Methodist or Presbyterian church that's doing it too.

Leigh, sorry about the family drama.

I've been chilling with my mom. She showed up yesterday without warning although Corey knew she was on her way. We're going to make cookies and carve a pumpkin with Aidan later.

And, damn, it's windy here today!

Leigh I'm so sorry for the sad things that have happened in your family, how heartbreaking! I hope you can make a difference. (((HUGS)))

BTW, for at least a decade I decided that if I ever had a daughter her name would be EmmaLeigh. Love the spelling of your name. :) Now if I ever (doubtedly) have a daughter she'll be Emmaline, or Emeline after an awesome ancestor in Kevin's line that we recently have read up about.
