Lol...all my kids have tests today so I should be able to just chill. :D..

Paint your eyelids to look like eyes. Then you can just sit there with your eyes closed and no one will be able to tell.

Good morning all! Yes, I actually said GOOOOOOOOOOD morning! :D

I have a story for you all... To our disappointment, our new apartment will not be furnished the couch we hoped for :(. I went to the furniture store last night after measuring the doorway of the new apartment the best I could, to measure the couch and it was sold :(. How is that for timing? Literally a day late and a lot short lol. Cheryl, the sales lady, was very sad to inform me that it was sold to another couple on Monday. I couldn’t believe it. She said it was surprisingly a busy day and a lot sold as it was the last day of their sale.

I had her show me other leather couches that were on sale to see if I liked any of them. I did find a couple but it just wasn’t the one we wanted. They were similar. I did this all before Natalie got off work so I went back home so then we could go back out together to look.

Natalie's mom and dad came home from work first. I told them that the couch had sold and they were like, "Awww. That's too bad." I was like yeah, well with it being marked down so low, I knew it wouldnt last. It's a very nice couch! So I could understand ya know - if ya snooze ya lose.

Natalie came home and I told her the couch sold. She didn’t believe me at all. She knows I like to surprise her with stuff, and this would be a great surprise, as her mom and dad have an identical couch and she has wanted it for years. At least the 4 I have been with her for lol. We are always giving them a hard time about just taking theirs.

So we moved on to joking with her parents yet again that this was the perfect thing - for them just to give us their couch since the one we liked had sold :D. They laughed - as they usually do, like yeah right!!!!

Sooooo.... We were all standing in the kitchen as dinner was cooking, and Ray looked at us and said, "You know why that couch sold yesterday??? It's because I bought it!"

Cheryl had called Ray after I left and let him know I was in there looking for another couch. He told her when he bought it that if I came in, not to spill the beans! She held true to her word! Now it's time for revenge :)

We are in complete shock! They bought us the couch for our apartment!!!! Talk about make my day - that did it!

It's still at the furniture place but Ray had the warehouse guys store it in the back because all they wanted to do was put a sold sticker on it, but Ray knew better. He knew I would be back to buy it. So this was just a really neat present to have. Now we're looking for a dresser for the bedroom or a recliner/glider for the living room to match the couch.

Yeah I was in disbelief that it sold. I had her walk me over there and yeah, it was gone LOL. I even joked with her when she said another couple bought it... I said, yeah, my in laws right? She said no. She was truly believeable. But yeah it worked out needless to say.

Aww well that's good. I'm still in shock. We didnt even see this coming at all. Her parents have done more than enough by letting us stay with them for the last few months.

Uh, oh. I have some unhappy kids right now. I gave a test almost exactly like the review sheet and at least 4 of them now have finished, looked at the answers on their review, and groanes.

I do mechanical design. Also a network admin, programmer, do electrical diagnostics, circuit board soldering and assembly, field work mostly east coast, web site design, graphic design and photography. Have worked at the same place since 1991 and have worn many hats.

Ooo, fun! I'm a mechanical engineer, but I get to work with robots and some other things, so I grab a soldering iron occasionally, too!
Glad you've got variety in your job, it truly is the spice of life and makes the day go by faster! :)

Or you can do the permanent marker on ping poll ball thing:

All this gravy/fish/foot business is stomach-turning!

On to happier gravy thoughts, is anyone doing anything other than oven-roasting a turkey this Thanksgiving?

My in-laws are coming into town, and my wife and I are trying to decide if we're going to grill it, do "beer-can turkey" in the oven, or just go with a regular roast turkey.
