This months installment in the continuing saga "Eric's Struggle For Shutter Speed".

Only two more events this year at this arena. The October event will be during the day and I can't wait. I think the pic's are better this month but still need improvement.

They did not allow anyone in the arena or on the platform this month.

I have to figure out why my exif is not showing up. It's there when they come out of LR, it's there in smugmug but it doesn't show up when posted on here. Oh well.

The barrel racing is all 125mm to 200mm, ISO 1600, f/4 and the shutter speed starts out around 1/650 and gets down to about 1/125 as it gets darker. That's where I give up on the shots.

The bull riding is all at 28-70mm, ISO 1600, f2.8-f4.0 and SS of 1/250 at HSS.

If I'm going to be serious about shooting night rodeos I need some strobes and/or ISO3200/6400 and/or f/1.4. After all it's just money you know.

If you do it right, it doesn't hurt at all.

Shotting Rodeo at night under the lights is going to be hard I am useing a 300mm 2.8 and 135mm 2.0 and shooting at 3200 still can't stop the action, strobes might be the way to go I don't know if it would be allowed in all arena's though.

To take Pictures is a gift to post them on POTN is an Honor.
