Nice shots. They're a protected species? Everywhere I've ever lived they've been considered pests. I've always liked them, though. I think they're survivors. We see them running around in the city occasionally.

Yep, same here, not sure how "official" the protection is, but they have signs up essentially saying "leave them alone" around the city.

well they are consider varmint here where i live. we have lots of them around the city taking peoples pet all the time. and there is a hunting season for them here too.
