Tire troubles caused so many yellow flags at the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard that the crowd booed when the final competition caution was thrown with ten laps to go.

Where at inside turn one did you take that first group? Good job on avoiding the fences on raceday.

Photos look good for being behind the fence. Yes I was there as well and I think Goodyear should be ashamed for the poor quality product that they produced for this race. This was NOT a race. They took this race away from the fans. If they cannot make a tire that can last more than 15 laps then they need to get out of the race tire business.

Thanks for posting your photos,
Tom

Nice shots.
I am so glad I didn't waste my day at the track as well as my money watching 10 lap race segments between the yellow flags. It was bad enough watching it on TV. I don't care what they say, someone should have seen this coming. NASCAR should be embarrased.

I'll post some pics I took at MIS sometime

There's a souvenir booth near that fence. Took the pictures near that booth, behind a section of the fence that had an area with the fabric removed. It takes a long lens to get things framed properly - 300mm is barely long enough.

The last two images were from the front row of G grandstand. It was no day to get track-level images from the outside, because everyone was covered in rubber dust.

Goodyear failed again today at Indy. Nice pictures though.

Here's an image of an actual, on-track pass for the lead, with around 45 laps to go when Jimmie Johnson got around Jeff Burton.

The last lead change happened in the pits

Sorry about the G stand fence. :(

I got to that stand, where my actual seat was located, around halfway through the race. By that time, the yellow shirts worn by the track's safety patrol were covered in black rubber dust, something the guys said they'd never seen before.

The other interesting factor was the large number of empty seats:

The hillside at the Mid-Ohio esses on the previous weekend looked more crowded than some of the Speedway's grandstands.
