Just downloaded about 2Gb of family photos from ixus 70 to pc (winxP). Important photos of a recent trip to Japan. They seemed to download but when I looked at (datemarked) picture folder area nothing there. All images were automatically deleted from mem card. Checked recylcing bin and not there. Checked by taking antoerh photo and it saved to a 1980 date - I hadnt got around to entering dates on camera (stupid!). But still the original photos seem to have gone forever. Checked search area on My Computer and no evidence there either.

Any help very much appreciated!

First, don't take any more pictures with the card.

Second, download and run this (it's free): http://www.artplus.hr/adapps/eng/dpr.htm (external link)

You should be able to recover the images quite easily. Don't use the card again, take it out of the camera. Buy a card reader, and get some photo rescue software (most work fine). I have a piece of free software that works fine, but I don't have the link on this PC, PM me if you want me to find it later on.
