but I have been trying to get a reasonable shot of this for a while (like several years
). This is the best so far I think...

Jul 27, 2008 21:03 | #3 Thanks Becca, I really appreciate that comment, because I think that's most of what I've been unable to capture here til now, that and the arrangement, it's somewhat difficult to get a good shot, particularly with a wide angle. This one is significantly cropped. Kenny A. Chaffin

And why has this been a trouble for you, taking a pic of this building that is. Who/What has been in the way?

I have a similar experience (a bridge near my house) trying and trying to get it just right. It has been a long struggle... The empty space on the right sorta bothers me, but then this would be great for a poster....or really anything that would call for filling that space in with words Well, that's the problem there is not anything to "get up on." evizzle wrote in post #5997768 Those clouds are sooooo white! Keep at it, everything will come together at some point. I'm happy with this, but certainly will not likely give up the chase. There's probably a better one waiting. There is additional equipment to the right of this which has been cropped out. Taking the pic is not a problem, taking a good pic is. Also the exposure has a been a bit of an issue with this bright white building, but it's probably more the clutter and limited compositional possibilities that make it difficult. You mean space on the left? above the clouds? This is part of the issue in composing this, the weather, the skies, there is also power lines and poles in front of it and various other clutter that is in the way. Well that stinks. What kind of equipment is to the right? Maybe if it was included and the building was dead center that could work.

It's grain handling stuff - augers, pipes, etc. I really would like to get it in the shot as well. One option is to try using a longer lens, but then there a buildings and houses about a block away that would be more clutter. Kenny A. Chaffin
