Call me crazy but i'd use a light meter. I'd give it a go but my 383s are in the shed.

Thanks for the info, I'm going to keep my eye out for a set of these and hopefully some appear in the next little while. Will probably wind up using them with some wireless triggers and see how that goes.

Thanks for that insight, Tim, but that's not why I asked. The guy said that the 580 is way more powerful. I was trying to see if there might be an error in testing procedure... and if so, what that might be.

It's the same...just check the guide numbers.
