i always liked the sound on my minolta srt 102. its loud but i seem to like the fact that my camera can have a voice of its own. so when i got my canon 40d. i am still as happy :)

That link appears to only compare the shutter "sounds" not their comparative volume. The sound they have for the XT and 30D don't seem to correspond to my experiences either.

You should hear the 1D 2n. It sounds like there's some kind of heavy duty industrial process taking place inside it every time I take a picture. Actually it's pretty cool except when I'm trying to take bird photographs.
