I've been using Office Depot generic DVD and they've worked fine. The Memorex were on sale at Office Depot and the generic ones were not. I've now tried to burn 4 DVDs and none has worked! What krap!

Don't buy Memorex!

These are known in some circles as Memosux . Terrible quality. Office Depot is only marginally better if at all. Some burners don't "like" certain brands also. If you want to save things you deem worthy of saving then you should use a better quality disc. Search out Taiyo Yuden discs. They're about the best available to the consumer. Verbatim's are neck and neck with them also depending which camp you're in. Try to avoid ANY discs made in Taiwan with the exception of the Verbatim's. Apparently their quality control is superior to others coming from Taiwan. Some may say their cheaper discount discs work and burn good. Yes . . for today. Be aware they may not be so good a year down the road. Been there . . .

I always buy Verbatim, good experience so far.
Usually about 22 cents each on sale.

Interesting input. I just figured they were all about the same until this happened 4 failures in 4 tries! I had maybe 3 out of 100 of the Office Depot brand fail, I thought that was pretty good. Maybe I'll stick with verbatim for my photos....

Thanks!

Much appreciated.

What's funny is that years ago I seem to remember having issues with Memorex Cassette tapes as well!

What burning software are you using to burn your discs? If Nero, check your burn log and see if your 4 failures show as CMC-MAG in the log. If so, don't waste your time using them. They will be coasters for sure . . . . If you can find a Taiyo Yuden disc, try one. Believe me, I've used many hundreds of their CD's and DVD's and not a problem and only pennies in the price difference between Verbatim's. Check the wrapping on the Verb's and make sure they show from Taiwan. They'll do their job also . . . .

No I'm using Roxio. Not sure if the same info is available. I'm going to at least try to return them and get my money back, if now I was only out $15 for 50 -- which I thought was too good a price. :(

Thanks again.
