Thanks Avi. I will have to go down there when the next boat stops here. There are several visits a year by the various river boats that still run the inland waterways. I had never bothered before, cause I had seen them in other places along the river, usually when they were moving, but when I took these, I must admit, I had a smile on my face the whole time. :)

They are the quietest kids I ever met. :)

Those things made the news and I am surprised someone hasn't stolen them yet. They were put up last year some time, and made the evening news at the time. They are pretty cool and aside from being brassy, are quite realistic looking, even up close. I never looked real close, but I think the parts touching the actual rails of the fence are welded or brazed right to the rails. :)

Mitch, I'm pretty sure I've seen a shot of that sculpture somewhere here on the forums, or at least somewhere. I just wish the neighbor kids here were as quiet as those. :)

I think I might have posted a closeup frontal shot of these kids when I was first trying out the new Tokina about three weeks ago. Yesterday, you could not get down on the docking area because of the boat so I just took a few from the side.

Thanks Bruno. Biggest one ever built, but not that old. It was christened in 1995. Still, it really looks like an old one. It's huge. :)

Thanks Gixxer. I try and get down there every time I hear it is going to be here. I have yet to actually catch it out in the river. I'd love to catch it coming down from St. Paul. That means it would have to make a 180 in the channel to tie off at the dock, pointing back North, or, catch it leaving when it was continuing South, which means another turn. Alas, it's not a train and doesn't run on any to the minute schedule. It was supposed to be here a few days ago and got caught between two locks where a flood was going on, so it's overdue and no telling when it will get here. :)
