G9 display scratched, what now?

I have a friend who scratched the display on her G9. I know I can buy the display; but I _assume_ the display has a protective plastic cover over it.

Can anyone either shoot me a link to a replacement or tell me how much theirs cost to have canon replace it? The LCD display itself isn't damaged unless it's a one piece package.

I believe Canon has a $135 (as of last year but it may have gone up) flat minimum fee to fix anything. It goes up if one of the more expensive parts are required.

No warranty?

It's cosmetic; so I don't think warranty would cover it??

The screens on the 20,30,&40D cameras can be ordered from, Canon parts and replaced by do it yourselfers. It isn't a hard job, just takes a ittle care. I would think that the screen on the G9 is also replaceable. Give Canon parts a call and find out. The screens on the Canon DSLR cameras are only about $15.
