Recently, my wife and I were fortunate enought to experience what I would call the trip of a lifetime. We flew to England and met with some childhood friends of mine and from their home in England we drove with them to their villa in Spain. Relaxing at the villa was wonderful and as stress free as life can get, but the trip was an experience that will never be forgotten. Driving throught the countryside in France and seeing the chateaus and vineyards was beautiful and fascinating. It was literally a photographers dream. Im posting a couple from the trip here and I'll post more later.
The first shot is one of the many chateaus we saw, I think the most picturesque of them all. The second of course is the bullfights. Or course, how can you go to Spain and not see the bullfights. In the town where we were, the bullfights are a little different. Instead of a matador lancing the bull till he dies, the young men of the town get in the ring and attempt to get the bull to fall into the sea. Then a 'rescue' team pulls the bull out to safety. Not only is the bull not killed, but the whole thing is kind of funny. All the locals cone out to watch, from the bleachers to boats in the harbor.
I also found myself in the street when the bulls were released for the running of the bulls, and not on purpose I might add. The just release them and run with them through town till they get to the arena where the bullfight takes place. I guess all the locals know what's going on and if you're in the street when they release them and don't know what's giong on, that's your problem. It was scary, but I managed to stay away from the danger zone.
I'm not sure about getting the resizing just right as this is my first time to post in a very long time, but if not right I'll fix it. Thanks

What an amazing trip you had! Love the pic of the bull. I spent a good deal of time studying in Spain when I was a pup but never heard of this idea of bulls being chased to the sea. Where do they do that?

Here are a few more from the trip. The "rowboat" is the bull rescue squad. Pretty hard to believe, I know. The other is a scene from the Pyrenees as we made the drive into Spain.
